Facial Acupuncture Is A Trending Lifestyle

Sandra Bullock, Madonna, Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie have done it – facial acupuncture.  But what is facial acupuncture and what can you expect in your appointment?  In light of DASHA®’s fantastic Fountain of Youth promotion running all month long (click HERE for details), we aim to answer some of the most frequently asked questions about this service:

So what is facial acupuncture?

Acupuncture treats ailments, issues or problems by stimulating greater health in your internal organs.  The health of your internal organs shows up on your exterior, your face and body.  The ancient Chinese medicine of acupuncture helps to stimulate blood and oxygen flow and remove internal blockages.  Facial acupuncture, also knows as cosmetic acupuncture or facial rejuvenation, actually enhances the production of collagen, a fibrous protein that keeps your face looking young and keeps wrinkles from wreaking havoc.  It helps minimize the appearance of large pores, wrinkles, and acne, as well as tightens skin and encourages cell regeneration.

Who are the best candidates for facial acupuncture?

If you want to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but don’t want to go under the knife (plastic surgery) or inject your body with a foreign object such as Botox or Restalyne, facial acupuncture is an excellent, safe and natural way to smooth and lift your skin while also improving the color and texture of it.

Is facial acupuncture safe?

When done improperly, Botox and Restalyne can result in negative side effects such as the weakening of facial muscles, bruising, itching or redness.  Chemical peels, while relatively safe, can sometimes cause infection or scarring.  Plastic surgery involves time off work and away from family and friends to recuperate and also carries all the standard dangers of undergoing any type of surgery.  The only side effect of facial acupuncture is that your skin will look younger and better, and you are likely to have a wonderful night of sleep.  For more information on what to expect in an acupuncture session if you’ve never been before, click HERE.
