Postural Ergonomics is the system and science of creating and maintaining workplace surroundings and equipment to suit the comfort and well being of the worker. The general concept of posture refers to “the carriage of the body as a whole, the attitude of the body, or the position of the arms and legs”.  It is the position in which you hold your body upright against gravity while standing, sitting or lying down. Good posture is the position which is attained when the joints are not bent or twisted and the spine is aligned.

postural ergonomicsDASHA® “independent providers” offers onsite training to corporations in Postural Ergonomics. Our team can help you people avoid the back and neck conditions that may result from sitting at a desk each day. DASHA®’s Postural Ergonomics Program focuses on prevention rather than treatment, stopping the problem before it even starts. Remember, Postural Ergonomics is not used to treat pain or the conditions that cause it, but it can prevent their onset. Bodies were not designed to sit in chairs all day facing computers, for far too many people, this is often the reality. Sitting all day with little to no physical activity is a lack of activity that can leave you vulnerable to stress injuries and back and neck pain. Learning about Postural Ergonomics can actually prevent pain and stress injuries associated with the Corporate Lifestyle.
