Acupuncture

Acupuncturist Manhattan, NYCAn ancient medical art believed to have been developed in China, acupuncture consists of inserting very fine needles on the body's surface in order to affect the physiological function of the body.  Different variations of acupuncture are practiced and taught throughout the world, and at Dasha Wellness in NYC, our licensed practitioners can perform acupuncture, acupressure and other alternative medicine techniques such as Gua Sha and cupping.

Acupuncture at Dasha Wellness

INITIAL ASSESSMENT

DASHA'S Acupuncturist will ask you questions regarding your emotions, sleeping patterns, eating habits and medical history. In order to truly get an understanding and offer a fair evaluation we consider the whole person, not just one isolated symptom. Second to asking questions, several parts of your body will be examined. These may include your wrist pulses, tongue, abdomen, back and other areas. These areas show much about what is going on in your body as a whole.

Treatment needles are typically retained for about 15-30 minutes. Soothing music will be played to help you relax during this time - many people even fall asleep during treatment! Depending on your condition, in addition to acupuncture, treatments may also include heat therapy, herbal prescriptions, nutritional supplements, and diet and lifestyle advice.
