The Serial Dater , The Lifestyle

I am a “Serial Dater!” I understand exactly what’s going on in the playing field and it’s not always such a healthy lifestyle, nor does it always live up to my personal preference. I don’t love it, yet I am good at playing the game. It’s not always easy but it’s appealing at times. Below are a few pointers, reminders and actual things I have been through myself.

“If it’s after 2:30, the call is for the dirty”  The people that fall into this category are notorious for texting, and I promise, you will never hear their voice via phone (minus the first date). They will, however probably be really hot or pretty!

Below are some actual texts I received this past week/weekend; you may recognize similar messages in your phone.  Each text is from an easily identifiable, yet different, just ” H” horny individual.

  • Just “H”orny 1 [11:15pm]: You’re so naughty!
  • Just “H”orny 2 [11:33pm]: What r u doing?
  • Just “H”orny 3 [6:20pm]: Haha it’ll end around 10pm.  Didn’t realize you were such an early sleeper.  I can’t convince you to grab just 1 drink?  I’ve got to get up early tomorrow as well.
  • Just “H”orny 4 [1:19am]: Baby
  • {2:31am}: Baby girllllll??
  • Just “H”orny 5 [6:23pm]: Send some pics of you getting ready, Keep those gym clothes on…love that look…Alone at your place?

Look, it doesn’t take an Ivy League graduate to figure out what the underlying contexts of these text messages are.  If they aren’t outright vulgar, they are screaming sexual overtones louder than your ring tone.  I mean you’re lucky your phone doesn’t have an orgasm every time it goes off.  This can’t be a healthy lifestyle doing this stuff all night long.

So what do you do now?

  1. Well, you can of course continue to have some kind of sexual relationship with this person until you become attached, then find out through Facebook after “not hearing from them for a month” that they have decided to get into a serious relationship with that bartender who works at Brother Jimmy’s, or The Hotel Bar  (Can you believe she has two less degrees than you, is completely tatted up, blah blah blah?).
  2. You can end it on your terms, and stop answering their texts.  Let’s be real, you’re going to get attached; and if those texts are filling your inbox, it’s time to “do the show, not the tell.”  Don’t just say you’re going to stop speaking to that guy or girl, but actually do it!
  3. Find the next one that’s going to be worth your time.  Would you rather be horny for someone you know cares about you, or for a person who likes thirteen other girls named Sara, Lucy, Jenna, Melissa, Rachel, Cara, Raven, Lauren, Jessi, Katie, Kat, LaVaughn, Jasmina, and a secret guy named Phil?  Think I’m kidding about Phil…you’d be pleasantly or probably unpleasantly surprised; happened twice.

Two important things

  1. Firstly, you aren’t ready to date until you can identify who you are and what you want/need in a partner.
  2. Secondly, your significant other should be on their best behavior while you are dating.  If you are unhappy with their “dating behavior,” then imagine what an impending future would be like.

Remember, everyone deserves his or her best match; it’s getting there that’s the challenge. This isn’t about profiling a fugitive; it’s about knowing yourself, your lifestyle and what you want.

Off to another adventure –“The Serial Dater”
