Studio Spotlight: RIPPED Fitnessat Studio 89

What to Expect: RIPPED got down and dirty this past Sunday at Studio 89 in Sag Harbor. The boot camp was led by three RIPPED “generals” who rotated us from station to station. During the workout, we were face down in the sand doing pushups, we rolled around huge tires and worked with power ropes.
The class began with a run in the sand (this particular class was held at the Hamptons’ studio’s outdoor, sand-covered space). Running on sand has less impact on the body and stretches your muscles more than running on pavement does. You’ll be forced to use a fuller range of motions and burn more calories, too.
The full-body workout also incorporates body weight circuit conditioning.
