Natural Ways to Relieve Your Allergy Symptoms

Rinse with a saline solution.  Spritzing a saline rinse into your nostrils up to two times per day can wash away pollen, relieve congestion, and reduce your need for medication.

Try a neti pot. A neti pot can rinse debris and mucus from your nasal cavity. You can make your own saltwater solution, just be sure to use bottled water that is distilled or sterilized.

Consume local honey. You may find allergy relief by consuming a teaspoon of raw, unprocessed local honey from the area you live in. It is thought that this helps your body to adapt to the allergens in your environment.

Shower before going to sleep. Showering before you go to sleep removes the pollen from your skin and hair, thus making it less likely you will rub the pollen all over your bed sheets.

Cut back on dairy products. Dairy products contain arachidonic acids that increase the production of leukotrienes, which restrict bronchial tubes, making it difficult for air to get through, thereby heightening phlegm and mucus production.
