Ankle injuries are common and too often left untreated or treated improperly, leading to ankle instability, fractures or chronic sprains. Ankle sprains tend to have varying degrees of severity, depending on whether your ligaments are stretched, partially torn, or completely torn. Pilates is an excellent way to strengthen your ankles with very little impact or weight on your ankle. A certified Pilates instructor can guide you through a customized series of squats and heel raises, eventually progressing to jumps and single leg balances.
