I’ve been thinking a lot about the changes I have made to get back to my injury-free self.
I’ve retired my beloved running sneaker collection for a new style of kicks I’ve never worn before (they’re not the coolest looking pair on the rack, but they’re the best bet for my feet) and have traded in my sexy heels for flats—I even got a pair of Birkenstocks! When I told a long-time friend about the Birkenstocks she couldn’t believe it. She even put me on hold so she could share the news with her hubby!
But I must follow my doctor’s orders! It’s all about making sure that this pretty little foot of mine doesn’t pronate when it should stay straight.
I am very spiritual and I like to reflect, but it’s time to stop focusing on the past and the sacrifices I’ve had to make during this journey. The only way to go forward is to get up and make moves!
So, today I asked my assistant to print out the New York Road Runners races that are coming up from August to December 2018. Rather than wonder if I will make it through a 13K, I am going to start small.
So here it goes right out into the universe…tomorrow I will be registering to RUN the following races in New York City:
NEW BALANCE 5TH AVENUE
NEW BALANCE BRONX 10 MILE
POLAND SPRING MARATHON KICKOFF
NYRR JINGLE BELL JOG
I will be prepared, I will remain mindful of my body’s feelings and most of all, I will get myself back on track to ME!
