Postural Ergonomics
Human beings weren't created to sit in a chair all day. It's surprising for most to find out that an office job can leave you vulnerable to stress injuries and back and neck pain. Postural ergonomics is the system and science of creating and maintaining a workplace's surroundings and equipment to suit the comfort and wellbeing of the worker and can potentially prevent repeat stress injuries.
At Dasha Wellness, we offer training in Postural Ergonomics to help our patients avoid exposing themselves to increased risk of back and neck conditions. Correct posture is one of the more important parts of ergonomics and can ward off the development of painful problems down the line. Developing and maintaining essential core muscle strength can contribute to better posture, so personal training is often part of a postural ergonomics program. We focus on prevention over treatment, stopping the problem before it even starts.
Postural Ergonomics at Dasha Wellness
Although postural ergonomics in itself does not actually treat pain or the conditions that cause it, it can prevent their onset. Back pain, neck pain, wrist pain, elbow pain and arm pain can all develop from improper posture in the workplace and elsewhere. Conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome, muscle fatigue, repetitive strain injuries (RSI's), work-related upper limb disorder (WRULD), carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, and thoracic outlet syndrome can be prevented through ergonomics and postural training.
