Spine Force

Spine Force – Dr. Darren Pollack of Dasha Wellness, Manhattan, Discusses a Revolutionary Back Treatment

When you really think about it, there is very little any one of us can do or accomplish without the aid of our spine. Until something goes wrong, we rarely think about all we require of our spines for mobility, spinal cord protection, and structural support for a whole network of stabilizing muscles. But the spine is a “team player,” so to speak. Just as other systems in the body rely on the spine, so the spine relies upon support from the core musculature of the abdomen, back and pelvic area.

What is Spine Force?

Spine Force is a technologically sophisticated piece of exercise equipment that stimulates the deep muscles supporting and stabilizing the spine. Spine Force corrects core strength imbalances, and the strengthening that Spine Force promotes across the core of the body results in healthier movements, less reliance upon knees and back in weight-bearing exercises, and—ultimately, a healthier, more resilient back.

Spine Force exercises reduce wear and tear on the spine and lead to the kind of “back wellness” that prevents injury and pain. At the Manhattan offices of Dasha Wellness, Dr. Darren Pollack incorporates Spine Force into many therapy and wellness protocols. Why? Because the core strengthening Spine Force provides leads to improved balance, greater agility, and enhanced endurance. It is effective for maintaining seniors’ quality of life, maximizing athletes’ performance, providing relief from back pain conditions, speeding injury or surgery recovery and reducing the risk of back injury.

How Spine Force Works

The state-of-the-art Spine Force equipment Dr. Darren Pollack offers at his downtown Manhattan Dasha Wellness treatment center stimulates the deep spinal musculature by forcing the user to maintain stability while balancing on an oscillating platform. The process of keeping the body stable as a platform rotates engages a whole host of spinal muscles. The user must subtly adapt and adjust balance and position to respond appropriately to the movements of the platform.

There is more to Spine Force, however, than an oscillating platform. The equipment also includes a moving column that focuses and augments the stimulation being directed to those spinal muscles. The patient grips two large handles with built-in sensors so that the equipment can assess and respond to the actual strength imbalances of the individual.

A “Teacher” for the Body’s Core Muscles

In essence, Dr. Darren Pollack explains, Spine Force is a sophisticated tool for “teaching” a patients’ spinal musculature. Most of us are not aware of our own core strength imbalances, and without specialized guidance, we cannot correct those critical imbalances. The equipment, with its smart, nuanced strengthening system, is an invaluable tool for helping Dasha Wellness patients recover from back pain—and ward off future occurrences.
